Apsidoneura sottyi was named by Burnham (1984). It is an impression. Its type locality is Montceau-les-Mines (Sotty MNHN/MHNA coll), which is in a Stephanian B deltaic mudstone in France.
It was recombined as Paleuthygramma sottyi by Béthoux et al. (2004).
