Malthodes (Malthodes) vallombrosa was named by Parisi and Fanti (2024). Its type specimen is Unimol AAA008FP, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber (Unimol collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
