Taxonomy
Polyetoblatta calopteryx was named by Handlirsch (1906). Its type specimen is USNM 25633, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Road from Hampton to Peachtree Creek, which is in a Westphalian terrestrial /coal in West Virginia.
It was recombined as Archimylacris calopteryx by Schneider (1983), Jarzembowski and Schneider (2007).
