Taxonomy

Homolopsis was named by Bishop and Brannen (1992). Its type is Homolopsis dawsonensis.

It was assigned to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Homolidae by Rathbun (1926), Glaessner (1980), Larghi (2004), Schweitzer et al. (2010), Feldmann et al. (2012), Luque et al. (2017), Charbonnier (2025).
