Taxonomy
Xantho agassizi was named by Robineau-Desvoidy (1849). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is St. Sauveur-en-Puisaye, which is in a Hauterivian carbonate limestone in the Calcaire à Spatangues Formation of France.
