Lambdophallus anfractus was named by Rathbun (1909). It is extant. It is the type species of Mariaplax.
It was recombined as Hexapus anfractus by Schweitzer and Feldmann (2001), Schweitzer et al. (2010); it was recombined as Mariaplax anfractus by Schweitzer et al. (2022).
