Taxonomy
Tanytarsus serafini was named by Giłka (2010). Its type specimen is MAI 5157a, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber (University of Gdansk MAI collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland.
