Taxonomy
Lissocardia was named by von Meyer (1849) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Anis-m Sepkoski's reference number: 674]. Its type is Lissocardia silesiaca.

It was assigned to Nephropidae by Garassino et al. (1999); to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Erymidae by Schweitzer et al. (2010); and to Litogastroidae by Karasawa et al. (2013), Feldmann et al. (2015).
