Taxonomy
Frankliniella intonsoidea was named by Schliephake (1999). Its type specimen is DEI 576/1, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Bitterfeld amber (Hoffeins collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Germany. It is the type species of Frankliniella.
