Taxonomy
Mesoneta magna was named by Sinitshenkova (1985). Its type specimen is PIN 3436/13, a nymph, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Borzhe, well 35, depth 154-156 m (PIN collection 3436), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian terrestrial horizon in the Udinskaya Formation of the Russian Federation.
