Palaega (pill bug)

Malacostraca - Isopoda - Cirolanidae

Discussion

Sepkoski considered Palaega a synonym of Bathynomus. Palaega is extinct (according to WoRMS), but Bathynomus is extant (and considered a valid, separate genus from Paleaga). Martin and Kuck (1990: Bulletin of Zoological Nomenclature 47.1) reject the synonymy and deem Palaega a form taxon, citing Wieder and Feldmann 1989: 78).
