Taxonomy
Chimaerocoleites seriatus was named by Ponomarenko (1985). Its type specimen is PIN 3186/10, an elytra, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Chusovitino-III (PIN collection 3186), which is in a Bajocian terrestrial horizon in the Tersyukskaya Formation of the Russian Federation.
