Taxonomy
Cordulagomphus (Procordulagomphus) michaeli was named by Bechly (2007). Its type specimen is MURJ 514, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Crato (Murata collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large carbonate in the Crato Formation of Brazil.
