Taxonomy
Metahadroneura major was named by Blagoderov (1998). Its type specimen is PIN 3064/9780, an exoskeleton (complete insect), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Baissa (PIN collection 3064, bed 31), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large marl/siltstone in the Zaza Formation of the Russian Federation.
