Taxonomy
Kamopanorpa karaungirica was named by Novokshonov (1993). Its type specimen is PIN 2781/267, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Karaungir-II (PIN collection 2781), which is in a Changhsingian lacustrine mudstone in the Akkolka Formation of Kazakhstan.
