Taxonomy
Mesosciophilopsis curtus was named by Blagoderov (1994). Its type specimen is PIN 3064/9795, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Baissa (PIN collection 3064), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large marl in the Zaza Formation of the Russian Federation.
