Taxonomy
Cretophotina serotina was named by Gratshev and Zherikhin (1993). Its type specimen is PIN 2383/151, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Kzyl-Zhar Locality (PIN collection 2383), which is in a Turonian pond mudstone in Kazakhstan.
