Taxonomy
Geroneura ovata was named by Bolton (1921). Its type specimen is BMNH I. 2965, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Coseley, near Dudley (Madeley coll), which is in a Westphalian B interdistributary bay shale in the United Kingdom.
