Planetochelys savoiei
Taxonomy
Planetochelys savoiei was named by Weems (1988). Its type specimen is USNM 412107, a partial skeleton (partial carapace), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Aquia Creek, which is in a Paleocene marine horizon in the Aquia Formation of Virginia. It is the type species of Planetochelys.
