Penetoblatta virginiensis
Taxonomy
Anthracoblattina virginiensis was named by Scudder (1895). Its type specimen is USNM 38104, a tegmen (fragment of tegmen), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Cassville, which is in an Asselian terrestrial shale in the Cassville Shales Formation of West Virginia. It is the type species of Penetoblatta.
It was recombined as Penetoblatta virginiensis by Handlirsch (1906), Handlirsch (1906), Handlirsch (1920), Handlirsch (1922).
