Taxonomy
Balaninus minusculoides was named by Wickham (1911). It is an impression. Its type locality is Florissant, Station 14, which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.
It was recombined as Curculio minusculoides by Legalov (2015).
