Taxonomy
Oligaeschna jungi was named by Piton and Théobald (1939). Its type specimen is MNHN-LP-R.54920, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Puy-Saint-Jean, which is in an Oligocene crater lake limestone in France. It is the type species of Oligaeschna.
