Taxonomy
Samarella was named by Polenova (1952) [Sepkoski's age data: D Gedi C Serp Sepkoski's reference number: ZR91]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Palaeocopida by Sepkoski (2002); to Paraparchitidae by Crasquin and Forel (2010), Zazzali et al. (2015); and to Rishonidae by Abushik and Evdokimova (2016).
