Taxonomy
Pteridomylacris paradoxa was named by Handlirsch (1906). Its type specimen is USNM 38733, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Fishing Creek gap, Sharp Mountain, Tremont, which is in a Westphalian C/Westphalian D terrestrial siliciclastic in Pennsylvania.
It was recombined as Mylacris paradoxa by Handlirsch (1906), Schneider (1983).
