Taxonomy
Cubanothyris corpulentus was named by Dagys (1963). Its type specimen is IGiG No. 186/34 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is River Kuna, which is in a Norian/Rhaetian marine limestone in the Russian Federation.
