Trionyx onomatoplokos
Taxonomy
Palaeotrionyx riabinini was named by Kuznetsov and Chkhikvadze (1987). Its type specimen is IZK R-3920, a partial shell (A partial nuchal), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shakh-Shakh (lower), which is in a Santonian/Campanian fluvial-lacustrine claystone/sandstone in the Bostobe Formation of Kazakhstan.
It was recombined as Paleotrionyx riabinini by Kuznetsov and Chkhikvadze (1987); it was recombined as Axestemys riabinini by Kordikova (1994); it was recombined as Eurycephalochelys riabinini by Chkhikvadze (2007); it was misspelled as Paleotrionyx riabinini by Kordikova (1992) and Sukhanov (2000); it was recombined as Trionyx onomatoplokos by Georgalis and Joyce (2017).
