Taxonomy
Astartila obscura was named by Dickins (1957). Its type specimen is CPC 2215, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Callytharra Springs (1 mile W), Byro Homestead, which is in a Sakmarian coastal siliciclastic in Australia.
