Taxonomy
Curculionites carlsoni was named by Heer (1878). It is an impression. Its type locality is Bjuf, which is in a Rhaetian terrestrial shale in the Höganäs Formation of Sweden. It is the type species of Nannocurculionites.
It was recombined as Nannocurculionites carlsoni by Handlirsch (1906) and Kirejtshuk et al. (2016).
