Taxonomy
Dicapnuchosphaera elegans was named by Tekin (1999). Its type specimen is Pl. 5, fig. 1 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 98-UKT-61, Yaylakuzdere measured section II, Alakircay Nappe, which is in a Lacian basinal (carbonate) limestone in the Gokdere Formation of Türkiye. It is the type species of Dicapnuchosphaera.
