Taxonomy
Parazacallites aquisextanea was named by Nel (1988). Its type specimen is MNHN IPM-R.06688, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Aix-en-Provence (collection of Count de Saporta), which is in a Chattian lacustrine - large limestone in the Niveau du gypse d'Aix Formation of France.
