Papilionichthys stahlae
Taxonomy
Papilionichthys stahlae was named by Grogan and Lund (2009). Its type specimen is MV 6170, a skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is MV 5410, Bear Gulch, which is in an Arnsbergian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Heath Formation of Montana. It is the type species of Papilionichthys.
