Blattina incompleta was named by Giebel (1856). It is an impression. Its type locality is Strensham, Worcestershire, which is in a Rhaetian marine horizon in the Lilstock Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Blattidium incompletum by Heer (1864); it was recombined as Aporoblattina incompleta by Scudder (1886); it was recombined as Blattula incompleta by Handlirsch (1906).
