Taxonomy
Nebria scudderi was named by Geinitz (1894). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Dobbertin, Mecklenburg (Greifswald collection), which is in a Toarcian offshore claystone in Germany.
It was recombined as Plastonebria scudderi by Handlirsch (1906).
