Trionyx uintaensis
Taxonomy
Trionyx uintaensis was named by Cope (1873). Its type specimen is ANSP 10189, a partial shell (nearly complete carapace and a considerable part of the plastron), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cottonwood Creek badlands (Bridger B), which is in a Bridgerian terrestrial horizon in Wyoming.
It was recombined as Amyda uintaensis by Hay (1908) and Hay (1930); it was recombined as Rafetus (Axestemys) uintaensis by Chkhikvadze (2000); it was recombined as Oliveremys uintaensis by Vitek (2011).
