Orlovicavina was named by Gramm (1969) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Anis-u]. Its type is Orlovicavina zharnikovae.

It was assigned to Ussuricavininae by Gramm (1969); and to Podocopida by Sepkoski (2002).
