Taxonomy
Holopogon archilestes was named by Hull (1960). Its type specimen is UMMP 25983, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Peterson Creek, Ruby River Basin, which is in a Rupelian lacustrine - large shale in Montana.
