Carnilestes palaeoasiaticus
Taxonomy
Carnilestes palaeoasiaticus was named by Wang and Zhai (1995). Its type specimen is IVPP V10488, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 100 m NW of Nanxiong Normal School, which is in a Paleocene terrestrial horizon in the Shanghu Formation of China. It is the type species of Carnilestes.
