Taxonomy

Asilicus lithophilus was named by Germar (1842). It is an impression. Its type locality is Kelheim (BSPG collection), which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Solnhofen Formation of Germany.

It was recombined as Elcana lithophila by Handlirsch (1906), Carpenter (1932), Zessin (1987); it was recombined as Panorpidium lithophila by Eades et al. (2012).

Synonyms

Acheta quaerula was named by Weyenbergh (1869). It is an impression. Its type locality is Solnhofen (Teyler Museum Collection), which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Solnhofen Formation of Germany.

It was recombined as Elcana quaerula by Handlirsch (1906) and Handlirsch (1906); it was considered a nomen dubium by Zeuner (1939); it was synonymized subjectively with Elcana lithophila by Carpenter (1932), Zessin (1987).
Locusta amanda was named by Hagen (1862). It is an impression. Its type locality is Solnhofen (BSPGM Munich coll), which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Solnhofen Formation of Germany.

It was recombined as Elcana amanda by Deichmüller (1886), Oppenheim (1888), Handlirsch (1906); it was synonymized subjectively with Elcana lithophila by Carpenter (1932).
