Taxonomy
Rithma antiqua was named by Giebel (1856). It is an impression. Its type locality is Swanage/Purbeck (DORCM/BMNH) [C. Willcox Collection], which is in a Berriasian fluvial-lacustrine limestone in the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Mesoblattina antiqua by Scudder (1886); it was considered a nomen dubium by Heer (1864); it was recombined as Durdlestoneia antiqua by Handlirsch (1906).
