Taxonomy

Procalosoma was named by Meunier (1895). Its type is Procalosoma giardi.

It was assigned to Carabidae by Meunier (1895), Handlirsch (1906); to Trachypachidae by Ponomarenko (1990); to Eodromeinae by Ponomarenko (2014); and to Caraboidea by Kirejtshuk and Ansorge (2022).
