Purtia mosaicus
Taxonomy
Purtia mosaicus was named by Case (1984). Its type specimen is SAM P17873, a mandible (left mandible fragment with most of the ventral and posterior portions of the jaw missing.), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP Locality V-5774, which is in an Oligocene fluvial-lacustrine horizon in the Etadunna Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Purtia.
