Taxonomy
Simosthenurus euryskaphus was named by Prideaux and Wells (1997). Its type specimen is AM F113131, a mandible (partial left juvenile dentary), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bone Camp Gully, which is in a Pleistocene terrestrial horizon in Australia.
