Taxonomy
Procoptodon browneorum was named by Merriless (1968). Its type specimen is WAM 63.2.94, a mandible (right dentary fragment missing coronoid process), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mammoth Cave, which is in a Pleistocene/Pleistocene terrestrial horizon in Australia.
