Taxonomy
Cretasyne lata was named by Yan et al. (2013). Its type specimen is NIGP 154572, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Xisanjia, which is in a Barremian lacustrine - small siltstone in the Yixian Formation of China. It is the type species of Cretasyne.
