Taxonomy
Sapindoxylon almelai was named by Koeniguer (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is CB 4026-4030 and 4033, a wood, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dakhla, near, which is in a Miocene marine horizon in Western Sahara.
