Gnetaceaepollenites was named by Thiergart (1938) [Emended by Jansonious Type species. Gnetaceaepollenites ellipticus Thiergart 1938.]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Gymnospermophyta by Thiergart (1938); to Gnetophyta by Vallati et al. (2016); and to Gnetales by Vallati et al. (2020).
