Preprismatoolithus coloradensis
Taxonomy
Prismatoolithus coloradensis was named by Hirsch (1994). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is MWC 122.3.1/HEC 457, an egg, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Young locality, Delta (MWC–122.1), which is in a Kimmeridgian/Tithonian dry floodplain mudstone/sandstone in the Morrison Formation of Colorado.
It was recombined as Preprismatoolithus coloradensis by Zelenitsky and Hills (1996), Carpenter (1999), Hirsch (2001), Zhao (2003), Sellés et al. (2014), Foster et al. (2016), Wang et al. (2018).
