Taxonomy
Neuropterites depertitus was named by Novák (1878). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Mokřina (Krottensee), which is in a MN 4 lacustrine - small marl in the Cypris Formation of Czechia. It is the type species of Neuropterites.
