Mastotermes heerii
Taxonomy
Termopsis heerii was named by Goeppert (1855). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Schossnitz (Sosnica), which is in a Miocene lacustrine claystone in Poland.
It was recombined as Mastotermes heeri by Emerson (1933) and Weidner (1968); it was misspelled as Mastotermes heeri by Snyder (1949); it was considered a nomen dubium by Nel and Paicheler (1993); it was recombined as Mastotermes heerii by Emerson (1965) and Krishna et al. (2013).
