Taxonomy
Libellula westwoodii was named by Phillips (1866). It is an impression. Its type locality is Stonesfield Slate (Oxford University Museum coll), which is in a Bathonian carbonate limestone in the Taunton Limestone Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Pheugothemis westwoodi by Handlirsch (1906).
